A double celebration at AB Lifosa: the company celebrated its 55-year jubilee and 17-year anniversary for operation of EuroChem
Last Friday, on 24th of August, two significant dates of AB Lifosa were commemorated in Kėdainiai Arena. This year Lifosa counts 55 years of its activity. Moreover, the international company EuroChem Group, a shareholder of Lifosa, to which it has belonged since 2002, celebrates this year 17-year anniversary of its operation. AB Lifosa has celebrated this double occasion with gratitude to its most loyal and best employees and a festive concert presented to the whole team of the company.
AB Lifosa counts a longer than half-a-century of the history of its activity. During its lifetime, there were both raises and falls. Approximately seventeen year ago the company was living a particularly hard time. Then Lifosa was facing crisis and had huge debts. Fortunately, there was EuroChem, a rather new company, which is now registered in Switzerland. It stretched out timely a helping hand to AB Lifosa. Without this company, AB Lifosa most probably would not exist now. Due to EuroChem our company currently takes high position in the global fertilizer market, and Kėdainiai is known as the manufacturer of high-quality fertilizers. Today our company is modern and safe", says Jonas Dastikas, the Director General of AB Lifosa.
The oak, the strongest tree of Lithuania, has been chosen as a symbol of the jubilee celebration. The oak is a symbol of strength, endurance and longevity, for which people have felt great respect and affection from ancient times. Edita Mildažytė and Rolandas Vilkončius, the hosts of the festive evening, together with the company's executives, employees and guests, were telling "A History of One Oak", thus reviewing past years, the most important events and appreciating employees who most contributed to success and development of the company.
During the celebration, there were solemnly honoured eight employees having worked in AB Lifosa for forty and more years. Eight more employees were awarded with Certificates of Appreciation of EuroChem and four - with the Honorary Diplomas of EuroChem Honors. The most deserved employee of EuroChem was awarded with the golden badge of EuroChem. This year the badge was awarded to Sidas Kalnaitis, the technologist of the Sulfuric Acid Plant. All rewarded employees of the company received monetary and memorial gifts.
The company and its employees were greeted by prominent guests: Darius Kaminskas, the member of the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania, Saulius Grinkevičius, the Mayor of Kėdainiai District, and Ovidijus Kačiulis, the Director of the Municipality Administration. The representatives of the Kėdainiai District Municipality did not spare words of greetings and gratitude and presented to managers of AB Lifosa honourable awards: Juozas Baniota, the Director of Administration of the company was awarded with the silver badge, and Jonas Dastikas, the Director General of the company and honourary citizen of Kėdainiai, was awarded with the golden badge "For Merit to Kėdainiai region".
A group of renowned country performers, Merūnas Vitulskis and Jurgis Brūzga, the winner of the Lithuanian Voice Monika Marija, the finalist of this project Gražvydas Sidiniauskas, as well as Ieva Zasimauskaitė, the representative of Lithuania at the Eurovision Contest 2018, stage grands Stepas Januška, Roman Dambrauskas and others were inviting to gather under the "Oak of Lifosa", which was changing during different seasons of year. The performers were accompanied by the live sound instrumental group of Marius Leskauskas.
